Creator Ads Deliver 19% Higher CTR on Meta Partnership Ads

Analysis of $130 million in ad spend across 65,000 Meta Partnership Ads uncovers lessons for how brands can build a creative system that beats fatigue and never runs out of winning ads.

  • As creator-led advertising scales, brands are facing a new challenge: producing enough creative to keep campaigns performing without prematurely abandoning ads that have yet to prove their value.

Rather than relying on one-off viral campaigns, the strongest Creator advertisers are building repeatable systems to test new creative, identify winners, manage ad fatigue and extend the lifespan of proven content.

Agentio, an AI-native platform for Creator-led advertising, has released Unlocking an Infinite Creative Engine, a report analysing $130 million in ad spend across 65,000 Meta Partnership Ads from 137 brands.

The research examines how brands can build a more consistent approach to Creator advertising, from determining when an ad has enough spend to be judged to deciding when winning creative should be replaced or moved to another platform.

Arthur Leopold, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Agentio, said, “The biggest misconception in creator advertising is that success comes from finding one winning ad.”

Meta Partnership Ads Outperform Licensed UGC

The research found that Meta Partnership Ads can deliver stronger performance than identical creative run from a brand account.

    According to the report:

    • Meta Partnership Ads delivered 19% higher CTR
    • Conversion rates were 10% higher
    • CPA was 5% lower

The difference comes down to the signals available to the platform. Partnership Ads allow Meta to use the Creator’s follower graph and engagement history alongside the brand’s pixel data when optimising delivery.

For marketers, this means the same piece of creative can perform differently depending on how it is deployed.

Brands May Be Killing Winning Ads Too Early

A common problem with creative testing is making a decision before an ad has collected enough data.

At less than $100 in spend, 45% of eventual winning ads still appeared to be underperforming. By the time an ad reached approximately $1,000 in spend, that figure dropped to 26%.

The lesson is simple: early performance does not always tell the full story.

Testing creative in clean ad sets and giving each asset enough spend before making a keep-or-kill decision can help marketers avoid cutting potential winners too soon.

Winning Creator Ads Have a Limited Shelf Life

Even successful Creator ads eventually experience fatigue.

The research found that winning Creator ads lasted an average of 36 days, after which CPA increased by 1.8 times.

For brands aiming to maintain 10 winning ads at any given time, Agentio estimates that approximately 40 new Creator ads need to be tested each month.

This shifts the role of Creator advertising from finding a small number of evergreen ads to maintaining a continuous pipeline of new creative.

Proven Creative Can Find a Second Life on YouTube Shorts

The report also points to cross-platform distribution as a way to extend the lifespan of a successful creative.

34% of US YouTube Shorts users are not active on TikTok or Instagram Reels. Moving fatigued Meta Partnership Ads to YouTube Shorts can therefore expose proven creative to new audiences.

The report also found that CPMs on YouTube Shorts were 30% lower than comparable Meta Partnership Ads, creating another opportunity to extend the value of existing creative.

Creator Advertising Moves Towards Portfolio Management

The report argues that Creator advertising should therefore be managed more like portfolio management than campaign management.

Instead of searching for a handful of evergreen ads, marketers can build systems that continuously test replacements, monitor creative fatigue and redeploy proven assets across platforms.

Leopold added, “The reality is that every winning ad has a shelf life. The brands that consistently outperform are continuously testing new creative, replacing winners before performance declines, and extending the life of creative they’ve already paid to produce.”

The research builds on Agentio’s previous work on Creator advertising, including its YouTube Creator Marketing Playbook and Creator Advertising Measurement Guide, and reinforces its view of Creator advertising as a scalable performance channel.
