2020 exposed stark contrasts between Middle Eastern companies that had embraced cloud technologies and those who have been slow. As many companies had to prioritise customer experience, remote workforce and eCommerce, they accelerated cloud migrations. As per reports, this year, the global public cloud infrastructure market is set to reach $120 billion.

But the inadequacy of resources and expertise, cloud migration, compliance and dealing with multi-cloud environments are few of the critical challenges faced by companies in the Middle East.

To address this and explore other critical aspects of cloud strategy, Enterprise Cloud & Data Center Forum (ECDCF), a series of two virtual summits focusing on key markets has been announced. Expert speakers, panellists and consultants will deliberate on cloud adoption to accelerate IT modernisation, multi-cloud strategies, Cloud IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service).

To be held virtually for the United Arab Emirates on Mar 10 and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Mar 16, the summits are being hosted by Datatechvibe– a soon to be inaugurated media and knowledge platform. Lenovo Data Center Group, which recently announced a new advanced hybrid cloud data management capability is the strategic partner and Nutanix the leading enterprise cloud software provider is the platinum partner of the event.

Speaking about the partnership Dr Chris Cooper, General Manager, Data Center Group, Middle East of Lenovo said “Lenovo is thrilled to be a strategic partner of the Enterprise Cloud & Data Center Forum. Companies across the region, are ramping up their digital transformation and looking for the most efficient infrastructure solutions to support their digitisation programs.

Lenovo’s open ecosystem and flexible, reliable, secure data center systems are already enabling many of the region’s leading organisations to transform their operations. The Forum is the perfect opportunity to connect with other stakeholders in the UAE and KSA, and discuss how Lenovo can support them to become data-centred digital leaders”.

Adding to this Aaron White, Senior Sales Director, METI of Nutanix, said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced IT priorities and has propelled us into a new era of strategic IT. It moved many businesses’ IT focus from planned initiatives to remote infrastructure build-outs to support home workers. However, in doing so, it has boosted cloud use, spurring the growth of underlying cloud infrastructure that’s essential to hybrid cloud plans and, more broadly, to corporate digital transformation initiatives. Nutanix has been involved in many of these regional initiatives, helping organisations overcome the complexity and cost of legacy IT, and embrace the power of cloud. As a platinum partner at this event, we are keen to engage in meaningful discussions and share our expertise and market insights with the forum attendees .”
