Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has introduced checkout-free shopping at its ExtraMile store at 18060 San Ramon Blvd. in San Ramon, California in partnership with Grabango, a checkout-free technology provider, according to a press release.
Grabango computer vision technology offers a contactless experience, allowing shoppers to select any non-age-restricted product in the store and then exit without waiting in line to check out. Payment is automatically completed through the Grabango app.
“We’re always looking to improve the experiences of our valued ExtraMile shoppers,” Bob Stolz, general manager of Chevron Stations, said in the press release. “That’s why we’re excited to work with Grabango to pilot their one-second-checkout technology at our Bollinger Canyon station.”
Retailers working with Grabango include BP, Circle K and Mapco.
