Agentic Marketing for BFSI: Turning Mobile Moments into Revenue?

WHAT IS A MARTECH HUDDLE?

It is an initiative by Martechvibe in association with Netcore.

Martech Huddle is specially designed to engage marketing, technology, and marketing leaders who have revolutionised brands by using technology as a catalyst. It focuses on a group of carefully selected industry stalwarts, bringing them together to participate in an exclusive closed-door session. The selected professionals bring a variety of viewpoints, experiences, and domain expertise, but they all share the vision of transforming businesses by enhancing the customer experience while utilising technology and new digital methods. The huddle encourages open discussions among peers, resulting in a better strategy roadmap for organisations. In the age of building peer exchange resources, these gatherings form a community of like-minded business leaders working to explore insights, ideas and best practices.

ABOUT THIS EDITION:

Indonesia is not migrating from desktop to mobile; it began as a mobile-first economy. Digital banking transactions have already exceeded IDR 5,570 trillion in a single month, with usage frequency up 158% between 2018 and 2023 and around 75 million users expected by 2026. With more than 180 million smartphone users and rapidly rising financial inclusion, everyday banking, payments, and credit decisions now play out on a four-inch screen. For BFSI brands, the competitive battleground is no longer branch or web, but the instant, high-intent moments that appear on mobile surfaces.

WhatsApp sits at the centre of this behaviour. It is already one of Indonesia’s most popular messaging applications and has become a primary channel for leading banks to drive conversions and handle complex customer interactions. Some institutions now report WhatsApp as their highest-converting channel for opted-in customers, using interactive journeys to re-engage prospects, streamline card applications, and deliver personalised recommendations at scale. Yet, for many BFSI teams, WhatsApp remains a utility for OTPs and notifications rather than a place where complete financial journeys, from onboarding to payments and servicing, can be completed in one conversation.

The signals needed to change this are already available. Every app scroll, product view, QRIS payment, dropped WhatsApp Flow, or repeated inquiry is a live intent cue in a market where switching is frictionless and habits form quickly. Agentic marketing introduces the missing layer between these signals and the mobile surfaces where customers actually act. By continually reading behaviour across app and WhatsApp, understanding individual context, and deciding in real time whether to respond with an in-app nudge, a WhatsApp Flow, or a tailored offer, BFSI brands can start turning mobile moments into measurable revenue rather than letting them pass to competitors and super-apps.
