RudderStack Adds AI-Ready Governance Tools for Data Teams

RudderStack introduces infrastructure-as-code governance features to help organisations deliver reliable, real-time customer data for AI applications.

  • RudderStack has unveiled new infrastructure-as-code (IaC) governance capabilities for its customer data platform, aiming to help organisations deploy artificial intelligence applications with more reliable and compliant data.

The company said the enhancements are designed to give data teams greater control over how customer information is collected, managed and delivered, while ensuring that AI systems are powered by accurate, up-to-date context.

RudderStack has seen rapid adoption in recent years. In 2025, it processed 3.3 trillion events for more than 4,000 organisations, including a growing roster of AI-focused companies such as AssemblyAI, Otter.ai, N8N, Replicate and Warp.

The platform positions itself as a real-time “customer context engine” for the AI era. As businesses increasingly move AI agents from experimentation into production workflows—across areas such as customer support, sales and personalisation—access to trustworthy data has become a critical requirement.

“AI systems are only as reliable as the context they can access at the point of inference,” the company said in a statement. “Modern data teams must find a way to deliver trustworthy, privacy-safe customer context to power these applications.”

RudderStack’s approach combines real-time data pipelines, proactive tools for quality and compliance, identity resolution and a semantic layer built directly on top of the data warehouse. Unlike traditional customer data platforms, its architecture treats the organisation’s existing warehouse as the central system of record.

Together, these capabilities allow teams to:

    • Collect and govern data from websites, apps and back-end systems in real time
    • Unify information in the warehouse to create rich customer profiles
    • Activate that context across AI tools, analytics platforms and marketing systems

“AI has raised the bar for customer data,” said Soumyadeb Mitra, founder and chief executive of RudderStack. “AI agents need fresh, trustworthy customer context. That requires real-time pipelines, proactive data governance and a strong semantics layer. Today we’re introducing IaC-driven governance and enhancements to our Customer 360 product to enable stronger guardrails and more automation for teams building AI in production.”

    Governance as Code

The new IaC capabilities allow organisations to manage data governance in a developer-friendly way. Teams can define tracking plans and data catalogues as version-controlled configuration files, making governance changes more transparent and repeatable.

    Key features include:

    • Code-based tracking plans and data catalogues to define events, properties and schema rules
    • CI-driven validation to automatically detect inconsistencies before they reach production
    • Developer-native workflows that deploy governance updates through standard code processes

RudderStack has also released Incremental Features, a performance upgrade to its warehouse-native Customer 360 product, Profiles. The update is intended to accelerate the creation and updating of customer profiles, delivering context up to five times faster.

By combining IaC governance with its semantic layer, RudderStack says organisations can evolve data schemas without disrupting existing workflows, providing a stable foundation for AI-powered systems.

The company believes these tools will help data teams confidently supply AI, analytics and activation platforms with accurate, timely customer information.
