  • Pinterest has introduced two new features – Product Tagging and Paid Partnership -which will enable Creators to monetise for the very first time, tag their Ideas Pins with shoppable products, and make clear any partnerships with brands on sponsored content.

Anyone with a business account can create Idea Pins and tag them with shoppable products, in order to help their audience go from inspiration, direct to purchase. These tagged products will then link through to in-stock products on the retailer’s site.

Research by Pinterest shows that 89 per cent of users are now using the platform to find shopping inspiration, while 64 per cent of users turn to the platform to find an idea, product, or service that they can trust.

A further 77 per cent of users are discovering a new brand or product on Pinterest on a weekly basis.

The platform’s new updates will not only help Creators build their businesses by monetising their content, but will also enable brands and advertisers to become more visible too.

“Pinterest is the place where creators with inspiring and actionable ideas get discovered. With this latest update, we’re empowering Creators to reach millions of shoppers on the platform and monetise their work” said Head of Content & Creator Partnerships at Pinterest, Aya Kanai. “Creators deserve to be rewarded for the inspiration they deliver to their followers, and the sales they drive for brands. Creators are central to our mission to bring everyone the inspiration to create a life they love, and we’ll continue working with them to build their businesses and find success on Pinterest.”
