UserTesting Brings AI-Led User Testing Into Figma
UserTesting launches an AI-powered Figma plugin that generates full UX test plans in seconds, embedding customer validation directly into design workflows.

UserTesting has introduced UserTesting for Figma, a new plugin designed to collapse the distance between design and validation by enabling teams to create, launch and analyse user experience tests directly within their design workflow.
The launch follows UserTesting’s recent acquisition of User Interviews and reflects a broader push to remove friction from the customer insights process. Using artificial intelligence, the plugin automatically generates complete test plans from Figma prototypes, transforming customer feedback from a bottleneck into a continuous, always-on part of design.
Designers can now convert prototypes into live user tests in under a minute. By describing the prototype and the intended task, the system generates AI-driven test scripts—including instructions, tasks and follow-up questions—without requiring a specialist research setup. Results such as success metrics, behavioural themes and video clips are returned directly into Figma, enabling rapid iteration.

“When the decision to engage is made in seconds, organisations need to shorten the distance between design and the customer,” said Liz Miller, principal analyst and vice president at Constellation Research. “Embedding high-fidelity customer insight directly into workflows improves speed to insight, decision-making efficiency and the quality of outcomes.”
The plugin introduces several capabilities aimed at redefining design validation, including AI-generated test plans, visual tracking of success paths, embedded dashboards showing key metrics and themes, and a blended approach that combines qualitative feedback with quantitative data such as completion rates and click behaviour. Designers also retain one-click access to full transcripts, video clips and the broader UserTesting platform for deeper analysis.
The release extends UserTesting’s end-to-end insights offering across participant recruitment, testing and AI-powered analysis. Following a beta programme that demonstrated significant reductions in time to insight, UserTesting for Figma is expected to become generally available in the second quarter of 2026.
“We’ve fundamentally changed the economics of customer insights,” said Jennifer Artabane, vice president of product at UserTesting. “When test design takes seconds rather than hours, teams can validate earlier, test more often and ship with greater confidence.”

The integration addresses a longstanding challenge in product development: design decisions with real implications for conversion and revenue often ship without validation due to time pressure and tooling complexity. By embedding insight generation directly into design tools, UserTesting aims to make validation faster, simpler and more accessible.
For organisations using both UserTesting’s participant network and their own panels, the plugin offers flexible recruitment options, enabling teams to gather feedback from the right audience at the right time.
