Indeed, many others have also rallied to the top, heading marketing positions of big companies. Packed with skills and abilities, they are the leaders that the industry needs to stay ahead. Here are our top picks of women marketing leaders who are more than just inspiration to the younger generation.
With the experience of working in the hotel and hospitality sector, Alaa Khushaim has been working with McDonald’s for the last six years. Currently, she is the Director of Marketing and Communications, McDonald’s. Skilled in management, advertising, strategic planning, marketing strategy, she studied Masters of Arts (MA) focused in Marketing Communications from the University of Westminster.
Alya Sairafi is the Head of Marketing and Communications at Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures for the last two years. Previously, she worked as a brand and content executive at Careem. She studied Bachelors of Science, majored in marketing and minored in Public Administration and Political Science at the University of Sharjah. She also has three years of voluntary experience as a collaborative designer at Kurt Store.

With over ten years of experience in marketing, communication and advertising fields, Amira Afandi is the SVP, Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing at the Saudi National Bank. In addition to leading retail and wholesale marketing and public relations, she also leads the brand communication strategy. Previously, she worked as the Head of Corporate Communication at the National Commercial Bank for ten years.
Cathie Hess has worked at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) for over a decade. She advanced quickly from Product Marketing Director to Global Product Marketing Director. In 2013, she took the position of Marketing Director. Hess received her education from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Ghada Almandhour is the Head of Marketing Communications at Fawaz Alhokair Group Fashion Retail. She has over 11 years of experience in corporate communications and marketing in various industries. Previously, a Marketing Manager at Riyadh International Catering Corp (McDonald’s), and before that, she was a Marketing Communications Lead at Tata Consultancy Services.

Hanadi graduated from The American University of Science and Technology with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies.
Margie Whitehouse is the Chief Marketing Officer of the Saudi Tourism Authority. Previously, she was also the CMO of South African Tourism. She has over ten years of experience asd a strategic marketing consultant. She studied Business Science, Marketing and Economics at UCT.

Ohoud Alshamikh is the Chief Marketing Officer at Takamol Holding. Previously, she held the position of Chief Marketing Officer at Zad. Diving into entrepreneurship, Ohoud founded Respire Lounge, a coffee shop in Riyadh. Her marketing experience includes two years as a digital marketing manager at Mobily. She studied MBA at Rochester Institute of Technology.
After holding managerial positions in different companies for 13 years, Ranya Yahya moved to AlHokail Medical Group and became the Regional Marketing Director in 2017. Reema Nezar Al Shammasi
Reema Nezar Al Shammasi is the Marketing Director of Mastercard. With her experience in Product development and commercialisation, and strategic marketing, she also worked with Nestlé for three years as its Brand Manager. Before that, she was a Product Manager at Nada. Reema studied Commerce and Marketing at the University of Otago.
Skilled in strategy development, branding and rebranding, consumer research and marketing communications, Sara Altuwaijri has been the Head of Group Marketing & Corporate Communications at Banque Saudi Fransi since 2019. Previously, she worked at Al Tayyar Travel Group as the Director of Marketing. She pursued her Master of Business Administration from King Saud University.
