Popular Canadian chain, Tim Hortons, has brought a taste of Canada to Singapore with its first café opening in VivoCity. The shop features iconic menu items including signature coffee beverages alongside a diverse selection of sourdough melts and baked goods, including bite-sized donuts known as “Timbits.”
Founded in 1964 by Canadian hockey player Tim Horton, the chain has become an icon of Canadian culture. First opened in Horton’s neighbourhood in Hamilton, Ontario, the aim was “to create a place where the door was always open for neighbours to pop by and warm up over a fresh cup of coffee,” the company said.
Tim Hortons in VivoCity debuted the brand’s new design concept that incorporates “warm tones and organic shapes, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Canadian wilderness and the timeless majesty of old maple trees.”
“Tim Hortons is one of Canada’s most beloved brands and I speak for many Canadians living in Singapore when I say that no words can fully express our excitement that Tim Hortons is finally opening here,” said Jean-Dominique Ieraci, Canadian High Commissioner in Singapore.
“Tim Hortons brings a piece of home, and I cannot wait for the Singapore community to experience the taste and warmth of Canada with their first cup of Tim Hortons® coffee and a bite of Timbits.”
