  • PUMA has officially launched its largest flagship store in Sunway Lagoon, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The 12,000 sqft store is the largest store in Southeast Asia (SEA) and cements the brand’s commitment to fashion, sports performance and community in Malaysia.

The store’s grand opening saw high-profile celebrities and local personalities from across the region including PUMA Thailand ambassadors Metawin “Win” Opas-iamkajorn and Tontawan “Tu” Tantivejakul, as well as PUMA Malaysia ambassadors Meerqeen and Priscilla Abby.

The celebration also included performances by breakdancers and athletes. At the new flagship store, customers can look forward to exclusive drops and special collections, as well as a state-of-the-art customisation area fit with interactive display units. The customisation area includes an AI Feet Scanner that meticulously analyses a customer’s feet and proceeds to recommend the perfect PUMA sneaker in both size and type.

At the same time, customers can gain access to a PUMA photobooth over the weekend for a chance to participate in a PUMA photoshoot. Throughout the month of September, customers can also drop by the flagship store and run the PUMAthon challenge in store for a good cause.

PUMAthon is the athletic shoe brand’s campaign featuring a 3D running track located inside the flagship store. For every 100M run a participant completes, PUMA pledges to donate RM10 to Care2Run, a non-profit dedicated to empowering differently abled youth and underserved communities through adaptive sports programs. PUMA will kick off the campaign with an initial donation of RM20,000 and as participants take part, they will witness the total donation amount rise.

Participants can also track their times on a live leaderboard, with the fastest runner at the end of the campaign winning a brand-new pair of PUMA Deviate Nitro Elite 3, worth RM929, along with other PUMA running goodies

“The opening of PUMA’s largest flagship store in Southeast Asia right here in Sunway Pyramid is a testament to the growing importance of this market, as Malaysia continues to be a key market in PUMA’s overall plans. This flagship store solidifies our commitment to bringing the best of our brand to Malaysians. We’re confident that this new flagship store will not only elevate the PUMA brand in Malaysia, but also have a positive ripple effect across the region,” said Sanjay Roy, Managing Director of PUMA Southeast Asia and Oceania.

“This store is much more than just a retail space. It’s a community hub – a place where sports, fashion, and culture intersect. With the store fully and officially open for business, we’re thrilled to offer our customers a more immersive shopping experience and a space where they can connect with PUMA and their communities – whether through running clubs, training gyms, a love for football, or other passion points,” added Steven Tan, Country Manager of PUMA Malaysia.

This comes as PUMA named Rosé, a member of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, as its new global brand ambassador. She will join the sports brand as its newest PUMA Sportstyle ambassador. Over the course of the partnership, the K-pop idol will also support additional classic franchises in PUMA’s Sportstyle category.

Through the partnership, Rosé will bring her vision, voice, and unique insights to PUMA’s global campaigns and storytelling.

The Korean-New Zealand K-pop star’s ambassador role will be dedicated to amplifying PUMA’s catalogue of iconic silhouettes and supporting the “Rewrite the Classics” program, which celebrates PUMA’s most timeless franchises, bringing them into a new generation, it said.
