French fashion brand Maison Margiela has made its brick-and-mortar debut in the Indian market and opened a store in Mumbai’s Jio World Drive with Indian department store chain Shoppers Stop and L’Oréal International Distribution.
Shoppers Stop’s beauty CEO Biju Kassim, said, “Exciting news! Maison Margiela has officially arrived in India at Jio World Drive, thanks to the incredible partnership with L’Oréal International Distribution. Unveiling a world of unique and avant-garde fashion experiences.”
L’Oréal International Distribution’s general manager for Asia Pacific Charles-Alexandre, commented on Kassim’s post, “And so it starts. Thank you Biju Kassim and congratulations to all teams with special thanks to Felicia Yeoand Ayandip Das.”
In 1988, fashion designer Martin Margiela introduced his luxury apparel line under the Maison Margiela moniker. Since then, the Paris, France-based brand has expanded into jewellery, accessories, shoes, leather items, and fragrances. As a division of the massive L’Oréal Group, which is focused on beauty, L’Oréal International Distribution collaborates with distributors worldwide to retail several brands, including Maison Margiela.
