Discord, the go-to voice, video and chat platform, announced updates to its mobile apps with a redesigned user interface, reworked the search bar, improved the loading time and several other aspects.
The developers also seem to have reduced the loading time, claiming that Discord will open 55% and 43% faster on Android and iOS, respectively. The developers have changed the navigation tabs that appear at the bottom of the phone, allowing easy navigation between the Servers, Messages, Notifications and You section.
Moreover, the update clubs Direct Messages (DMs) and Group Direct Messages (GDMs) in the ‘Messages’ tab further allow users to pin favourite conversations to the top.
Besides that, users can long press on a message to open a quick reply option and swipe a message to reply to any message in the chat window.
The notifications will also allow users to check every notification in a few clicks. Once the user taps on a notification, it will be marked as read and automatically cleared.
The You tab will allow users to quickly change their status, upload a new profile picture, navigate friends list and modify account settings. They can also double-click the You tab to quickly open settings and search for a particular feature using the search bar.
The Discord mobile app also features improvements like an updated night mode, better media sharing and viewing options, and a revamped voice and video call interface.
