Indonesian telecoms service provider Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison has announced a new strategic partnership with Garuda Indonesia, the country’s national airline.
The collaboration will see Garuda explore the use of various new digital technologies with help from Indosat, aiming, according to the partners, to “enhance operational quality, optimise ancillary revenue and personalise passenger experiences”.
For Garuda, in particular, the optimisation of flight services through digitisation and increasingly seamless travel planning for passengers are cited as appealing early benefits of the partnership, although how any solution will be rolled out was not made clear.
The strategic partnership is backed by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, which hopes the deal will add value to the country’s aviation and tourism sectors.
